Classification Appeals Committee
Description

Labor/Management Committee Activities
The Classification Appeals Committee is charged with reviewing all appeals for classification review filed by Faculty and Professional Staff and with review of all outstanding “Global Issues”. Global Issues are unresolved appeals from the initial implementation of the Classification System. All decisions issued on individual appeals are final and binding.
Committee recommendations regarding change in classification titles are forwarded to the Global Issues Committee for consideration and ultimately forward to the Chancellor of Higher Education for a final decision.

Unit members who believe their initial point allocation and/or job title granted upon hire have thirty days to request the campus human resource office make any necessary correction(s).In the event the campus human resource office denies the request for a change, unit members may appeal that decision to the Classification Appeals Committee. In addition, any unit member who has had a change in job responsibilities may request a review for change in job title to their campus human resource office. Should the campus human resource office deny the request, unit members may appeal to the Classification Appeals Committee.
